A few things to know before you scan the QR code:
- •Open the QR code on a second device (your laptop or another phone) before you start scanning.
- •Stay on Wi-Fi the entire time. Losing connection mid-install can cause errors.
- •Each QR code works for one scan only. After a successful scan, the code expires and cannot be used again.
- •Do not delete the eSIM after you install it. An eSIM is not transferable between devices once installed, so deleting it means losing your plan.
A few things to know before you start the manual install:
- •Each manual activation code is single-use. Do not share it and do not enter it twice.
- •Keep a stable Wi-Fi connection throughout. A dropped connection can interrupt the installation.
- •This eSIM locks to your device once installed. It is not transferable to another phone, so do not remove it unless you no longer need this plan.

HelloRoam works on Samsung eSIM compatible phones including Galaxy S20 through S24 (Plus, Ultra, and FE models), Z Fold 2 through Z Fold 5, Z Flip through Z Flip5, and the Note 20 series. These are confirmed eSIM compatible phones for Canadian travellers heading to the US, Mexico, or the UK. Your device requires OneUI 3.0 or higher (Android 11 or later). Budget A-series models generally do not include eSIM hardware, so check your model specifications before you buy a plan.
Samsung stores all eSIM options inside SIM Manager at Settings > Connections > SIM Manager. On OneUI 6.0 and above, the label may read SIM card manager in the same location. If you cannot spot it, type SIM Manager into the Settings search bar and it will come up straight away on any supported Galaxy model.
You can install a HelloRoam eSIM on Samsung without a QR code using manual entry. Open Settings, tap Connections, tap SIM Manager, tap Add eSIM, then choose Enter activation code manually. Type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your HelloRoam confirmation email. Both codes arrive in the same email within 5 minutes of purchase and work on all eSIM Samsung phone models.
