A few things to know before you scan the QR code:
- •Open the QR code on a second device (your laptop or another phone) before you start scanning.
- •Stay on Wi-Fi throughout. Losing connection mid-install can cause errors.
- •Each QR code works for one scan only. After a successful scan, the code expires.
- •Do not delete the eSIM after installing it. An eSIM is not transferable between devices once installed, so deleting it means losing your plan.
A few things to know before you start the manual install:
- •Each manual activation code is single-use. Do not share it or enter it twice.
- •Keep a stable Wi-Fi connection throughout. A dropped connection can interrupt the install.
- •This eSIM locks to your device once installed. It is not transferable to another phone, so do not delete it unless you no longer need the plan.

7. Label and setup eSIM
Name your eSIM (for example, HelloRoam Japan) and set it as your preferred mobile data line.

Before you begin:
- •Wait until you land at your destination before activating if you are on an auto-activation plan.
- •Switch on airplane mode, then reconnect to Wi-Fi so your home carrier (Singtel, StarHub, or M1) does not charge you during setup.
- •Save this guide as a PDF so you have it for offline reference when you arrive.
Open Settings, tap Mobile Data, and find your HelloRoam eSIM profile in the list.
Turn on your eSIM line and switch on Data Roaming so your phone connects the moment you land, including at Changi Airport.

FAQs
Samsung phones with eSIM support include the Galaxy S20, S21, S22, S23, and S24 series (Plus, Ultra, and FE variants), Z Fold 2 through Z Fold 5, Z Flip through Z Flip5, and the Note 20 series. These are among the most widely used eSIM compatible phones for Singaporean travellers. Your Galaxy needs OneUI 3.0 or later (Android 11 or higher). Most A-series budget models do not include eSIM hardware, so check your model specs on Samsung's site before you purchase a plan.
SIM Manager on Samsung Galaxy sits at Settings > Connections > SIM Manager. On OneUI 6.0 and newer, it may appear as SIM card manager under the same path. If you cannot find it, type SIM Manager in the Settings search bar and the option appears right away.
