HelloRoam operates its own branded carrier identity. When you install a HelloRoam eSIM, your phone's status bar displays HelloRoam as the network name, not a local carrier.

Service Provider Name

HelloRoam provisions its own SPN in every eSIM profile. Your phone's status bar displays HelloRoam as the carrier name, just like it shows Singtel, StarHub or M1 on your primary SIM.

PNN

Public Network Name

The Public Network Name (PNN) is a network-name field inside the eSIM profile, defined in the 3GPP standard. Your phone can read it, along with the SPN, when it shows the name of your HelloRoam line.

APN

Access Point Name

HelloRoam's APN configuration connects your device to a local partner network at your destination automatically. No manual APN setup is required on iPhone or most Android devices.

On a trip to Europe, my hotel Wi-Fi was so slow and outside Wi-Fi was unreliable. I couldn’t take it anymore so I got helloroam for a few days. It was tricky to set up correctly because of the primary settings (with my original number). But I reached out to their customer service via WhatsApp. Super responsive and helpful, with specific and clear steps to troubleshoot. Appreciate having 4G roaming instead of being stuck with in and out Wi-Fi during my trip!!

Do eSIMs give you a phone number?

HelloRoam eSIM plans are data-only and do not include a local voice number. They give you mobile internet for apps, maps, WhatsApp and video calls over data, with 4G or 5G in most countries. Keep your Singtel, StarHub, M1 or SIMBA SIM active for calls and your Singapore number while you travel. Use the HelloRoam eSIM for data.

Do you keep your phone number with an eSIM?

Your Singapore number stays on your primary SIM when you add a HelloRoam eSIM for travel data. Modern iPhones and Android phones support dual SIM, so your Singtel, StarHub, M1 or SIMBA number stays on one line while HelloRoam handles data on the other. Turn off mobile data on your home SIM to avoid roaming charges. Contacts reach you on your usual Singapore number the whole trip.

Can I have two eSIMs on one phone?

Many eSIM compatible phones store two or more profiles at once. Supported devices include iPhones from XS onward, most Samsung Galaxy S20 and later models, and Google Pixel 4 and later. You can keep one plan for Japan and a separate one for the UK, then switch as needed. An eSIM is not transferable to another device once installed. If you change phones before your eSIM first connects in your destination, contact HelloRoam support and we can issue a new eSIM.
