Your Phone Says HelloRoam

HelloRoam operates its own branded carrier identity. When you install a HelloRoam eSIM, your phone's status bar displays HelloRoam as the network name, not a local carrier.

SPN

Service Provider Name

HelloRoam provisions its own SPN (Service Provider Name) in every eSIM profile. Your phone's status bar displays HelloRoam as the carrier name, just like it shows Jio or Airtel on your primary SIM.

PNN

Public Network Name

The Public Network Name (PNN) is a network-name field inside the eSIM profile, defined in the 3GPP standard. Your phone can read it, along with the SPN, when it shows the name of your HelloRoam line.

APN

Access Point Name

HelloRoam's APN configuration connects your device to a local partner network at your destination automatically. No manual APN setup is required on iPhone or most Android devices.

On a trip to Europe, my hotel Wi-Fi was so slow and outside Wi-Fi was unreliable. I couldn’t take it anymore so I got helloroam for a few days. It was tricky to set up correctly because of the primary settings (with my original number). But I reached out to their customer service via WhatsApp. Super responsive and helpful, with specific and clear steps to troubleshoot. Appreciate having 4G roaming instead of being stuck with in and out Wi-Fi during my trip!!

How much does an eSIM typically cost?

HelloRoam eSIM plans start from ₹98.03 for a data-only plan. Fixed plan sizes and lengths vary by destination, and each country page shows the plans on sale there. Unlimited daily plans are sold in most countries for trips where you would rather not count gigabytes, and fair-use terms apply. Instead of carrier roaming charges, you pay one prepaid price, with no monthly fees, no contracts and no roaming surcharges from your home carrier.

Do eSIMs give you a phone number?

HelloRoam travel eSIMs are data-only and come with no phone number or voice line. They give you mobile data on local partner networks for apps, messaging, maps, and video calls on WhatsApp or FaceTime. Speeds depend on the local network. Keep your Jio, Airtel, or Vi SIM active for calls and to keep your Indian number. Use the HelloRoam eSIM for data.

Do you keep your phone number with an eSIM?

Your Indian number stays with your physical Jio, Airtel, or Vi SIM when you add a HelloRoam eSIM for travel data. Most phones now support dual SIM, so both lines run at the same time. Turn off mobile data on your Indian SIM to stop your home carrier from billing you for roaming. Your family and contacts can still reach your Indian number while you use the HelloRoam eSIM for data.

Can I have two eSIMs on one phone?

Most modern phones support two or more eSIM profiles at the same time. Compatible devices include iPhones from the XS onward, most Samsung Galaxy S20 and later models, and Google Pixel 4 and later. You can store multiple eSIM plans and switch between them for different trips. An eSIM profile binds to your device once installed and cannot be moved to a different phone. If you change phones before your HelloRoam eSIM has connected in your destination, email help@helloroam.com and we can issue a new eSIM. After it connects, we do not issue a new one.
