Google Pixel 7 eSIM Compatible: Set Up Your Pixel eSIM in 2 Minutes

eSIM works on every Pixel 4 or newer, Google says, the Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 series included. Older Pixels have conditions. There's no eSIM on a Pixel 3a bought in Japan or with Verizon service. A Pixel 3 has none if it came from a Canadian or US carrier other than Sprint or Google Fi, or was bought in Australia, Taiwan or Japan. The Pixel 2 supports eSIM only on units bought with Google Fi service. In the US, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are eSIM-only.

You'll find the eSIM option on a Google Pixel at Settings > Network and Internet > SIMs: tap Add SIM, then Set up an eSIM. If it's not there, search for SIM in the Settings search bar. The same SIMs screen manages every SIM and eSIM on the phone.

Yes. No QR code is needed if you type the details in. On your Pixel, go to Settings > Network and Internet > SIMs, tap Add SIM, choose Set up an eSIM and select the option to enter details manually. Copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your HelloRoam email into the two fields.

Yes, as long as your carrier supports it. According to Google, the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and all later models, the Pixel 9 series among them, can run 2 eSIM profiles at the same time. From the Pixel 3a onward, a physical SIM can also pair with an eSIM, except on a Pixel 3a bought in Japan. US units of the Pixel 10 and later are eSIM-only, apart from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Both lines are managed at Settings > Network and Internet > SIMs.

No. You can't transfer an installed HelloRoam eSIM between Pixel phones. The wireless eSIM transfer built into Pixel setup doesn't work for it, and scanning the same QR code again doesn't work either. Don't delete the eSIM from your old Pixel. Before its first connection to a network your plan covers at your destination, email help@helloroam.com. Setting it up at home doesn't count as that first connection. We can issue a new eSIM for your new Pixel. Once that first connection happens, the code can't be used again, and we can't issue a new one just for a phone change.
