A few things to know before you scan the QR code:
- •Open the QR code on a second device (your laptop or another phone) so you can scan it with your Pixel.
- •Keep your Wi-Fi connection stable the whole time. Dropping connection mid-scan causes errors.
- •The QR code is single-use. Once scanned, it can't be scanned again.
- •Don't delete the eSIM after installing it. An eSIM is not transferable between devices once installed, so deleting it means losing your plan.

- eSIM Transfer:When setting up a new Pixel, you can transfer your HelloRoam eSIM wirelessly during the device setup flow. Note: a HelloRoam eSIM ties to your original device and is not transferable once installed outside of this setup flow.
- Dual eSIM (Pixel 9 series):Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9a run two active eSIMs at the same time. Keep your US number live and use a HelloRoam local travel data plan at the same time.

The Pixel 10 is eSIM-only with no physical SIM card slot at all.
The eSIM setting on Google Pixel lives at Settings > Network and Internet > SIMs > Add SIM. On Android 15 (Pixel 9 series and Pixel 9a), go to Settings > Network and Internet > Internet, then tap the plus icon next to SIMs. If you can't find it, type 'SIM' in the Settings search bar and the option appears right away. Google Pixel sim card management is handled entirely through this menu. No physical SIM tray is needed on eSIM-only models like the Pixel 10.
Installing a HelloRoam eSIM on Pixel without a QR code uses manual activation code entry. Go to Settings > Network and Internet > SIMs > Add SIM and choose to enter the code manually. Type the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your HelloRoam email. The manual option works on all eSIM-compatible Pixel models including the Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 8, and Pixel 9 series regardless of Android version.
Google Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and 9a support dual eSIM, so two eSIM profiles run at the same time with no physical SIM card needed. The Pixel 10 is eSIM-only with no physical SIM card slot, making it the first Pixel to drop the tray entirely. Pixel 8, 7, and 6 series support one eSIM plus one physical SIM. Manage all SIMs at Settings > Network and Internet > SIMs.
Google Pixel phones support wireless eSIM transfer during new device setup starting from the Pixel 7. Follow the on-screen prompt when setting up your new Pixel to move the profile from your old device.
