How to Install eSIM on Google Pixel

Google says every Pixel 4 and later phone works with eSIM, up to the Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 series. Older models have limits. A Pixel 3a bought with Verizon service or in Japan has no eSIM. A Pixel 3 bought with service from a US or Canadian carrier other than Sprint or Google Fi has no eSIM. Neither has a Pixel 3 bought in Australia, Taiwan or Japan. On the Pixel 2, only phones bought with Google Fi service work with eSIM. In the US, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL use eSIM only.

The eSIM option on Google Pixel is at Settings > Network & internet > SIMs. Tap Add SIM, then Set up an eSIM. If you can't find it, type SIM in the Settings search bar. You manage every SIM and eSIM on your Pixel from this same SIMs screen.

Yes. You can install a HelloRoam eSIM on your Pixel without scanning a QR code by entering the details yourself. Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs, tap Add SIM, then Set up an eSIM, and choose to enter the details. Paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your HelloRoam email.

Yes. Google says the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and every later Pixel, including the Pixel 9 series, can use 2 eSIM profiles at once if your carrier allows it. Every Pixel from the Pixel 3a on can also pair one physical SIM with one eSIM, except a Pixel 3a bought in Japan. In the US, the Pixel 10 and later, except the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, use eSIM only. Manage both lines at Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.

No. You cannot transfer an installed HelloRoam eSIM between Pixel phones. The wireless eSIM transfer in Pixel setup does not work for it. Scanning its QR code again does not work either. Don't delete the eSIM from the old Pixel. Before its first connection to a network your plan covers in your destination, email help@helloroam.com. Installing it at home does not count as that connection. We can issue a new eSIM for the new Pixel. After that first connection, its code cannot be used again. We do not issue a new one for a change of phone.

Only in the US. Google says US models of the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL cannot use a physical SIM, and run two active eSIMs instead. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold keeps a nano SIM slot, and the Pixel 10 sold in other countries, such as the UK, has one nano SIM and one eSIM. Every Pixel 10 model works with eSIM, and HelloRoam plans for it start at $1.03.

To use a HelloRoam eSIM, your Pixel must be unlocked.
