Google Pixel 7 eSIM Compatible: Set Up Your Pixel eSIM

Google says every Pixel 4 and later works with eSIM, right up to the Pixel 10 and Pixel 11 series. A few older models have limits though. A Pixel 3a bought with Verizon or in Japan misses out on eSIM. A Pixel 3 bought on a US or Canadian carrier other than Sprint or Google Fi misses out too, as does one bought in Australia, Taiwan or Japan. On the Pixel 2, only phones bought with Google Fi service get eSIM. In the US, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL are eSIM only.

The eSIM option on Google Pixel sits at Settings > Network and internet > SIMs. Tap Add SIM, then Set up an eSIM. Can't find it? Type SIM into the Settings search bar and it'll pop up. You manage every SIM and eSIM on your Pixel from this same SIMs screen.

Sure can. Skip the QR code and enter the details yourself: Settings > Network and internet > SIMs, tap Add SIM, then Set up an eSIM, and pick the manual entry option. Pop in the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your HelloRoam email and you're away.

Yes, provided your carrier supports it. Google says the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and every Pixel released since, Pixel 9 series included, can run 2 eSIM profiles side by side. Any Pixel from the Pixel 3a onward can also use one physical SIM plus one eSIM, except a Pixel 3a bought in Japan. In the US, Pixel 10 and later phones are eSIM only, apart from the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Both lines sit under Settings > Network and internet > SIMs.

No. You can't move an installed HelloRoam eSIM to a different Pixel. The wireless eSIM transfer in Pixel setup doesn't work for it, and scanning the QR code again doesn't work either. Don't delete the eSIM from your old Pixel. Before its first connection to a network your plan covers at your destination, email help@helloroam.com. Installing it at home doesn't count as that first connection. We can issue a new eSIM for the new Pixel. Once that first connection happens, the code can't be used again, and we don't issue a new one just because you've changed phones.

Only in the US. Google says the US Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL can't use a physical SIM and run two active eSIMs instead. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold still has a nano SIM slot, and a Pixel 10 bought elsewhere, the UK for example, comes with one nano SIM and one eSIM. To check, go to Settings > Network and internet > SIMs and look for Add SIM. The Pixel needs to be unlocked for a HelloRoam eSIM.

Each one runs a physical SIM alongside an eSIM, so your One NZ, Spark or 2degrees SIM stays in the tray and HelloRoam goes on as the eSIM.
