Een paar dingen om te weten voordat je de QR-code scant:
- •Open de QR-code op een tweede apparaat (je laptop of een andere telefoon) zodat je hem kunt scannen met je Pixel.
- •Houd je Wi-Fi-verbinding stabiel de hele tijd. Een onderbroken verbinding tijdens het scannen veroorzaakt fouten.
- •De QR-code is eenmalig te gebruiken. Na het scannen kan hij niet opnieuw worden gescand.
- •Verwijder de eSIM niet na de installatie. Hij is gekoppeld aan dit apparaat en kan niet worden verplaatst of hergebruikt.
Een paar dingen om te weten voordat je start met de handmatige installatie:
- •Elke handmatige activatiecode is eenmalig te gebruiken. Deel hem niet en voer hem niet twee keer in.
- •Blijf de hele tijd op Wi-Fi. Een verbinding verliezen tijdens de installatie kan fouten veroorzaken.
- •Zodra geïnstalleerd, is deze eSIM gekoppeld aan je Pixel. Verwijderen betekent dat je hem niet meer kunt gebruiken.

- •Switch on airplane mode, then reconnect to Wi-Fi so your home carrier does not charge you.

Handige tips voor Google Pixel
- eSIM overdragen:Bij het instellen van een nieuwe Pixel kun je je HelloRoam eSIM draadloos overdragen via de apparaatinstellingen. Let op: een HelloRoam eSIM is gekoppeld aan je oorspronkelijke apparaat en is niet overdraagbaar na installatie buiten deze instellingsstroom.
- Dubbele eSIM (Pixel 9):Pixel 9, 9 Pro en 9 Pro XL draaien twee actieve eSIMs tegelijk. Houd je Nederlandse nummer actief en gebruik een lokale databundel op reis naar Japan of de VS.
- Snelle installatie:Standaard Android op Pixel heeft de minste installatiestappen van alle Android-apparaten. De meeste reizigers zijn snel verbonden.
- Android 15 gebruikers:Op Android 15 is het SIM-pad gewijzigd naar Instellingen > Netwerk en internet > Internet > tik op het + pictogram naast SIM's.

De volledige lijst omvat Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a, 3a XL, 4, 4 XL, 4a, 4a 5G, 5, 5a 5G, 6, 6 Pro, 6a, 7, 7 Pro, 7a, 8, 8 Pro, 8a, 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL en Pixel Fold. Je hebt Android 9.0 (Pie) of hoger nodig. De Pixel 10 heeft alleen eSIM zonder fysieke SIM-kaartslot.
De eSIM-instelling op Google Pixel 7 en de meeste Pixel-modellen vind je via Instellingen > Netwerk en internet > SIM's > SIM toevoegen. Op Android 15 (Pixel 9-serie) ga je naar Instellingen > Netwerk en internet > Internet en tik je op het plusteken naast SIM's. Kun je het niet vinden, zoek dan op 'SIM' in de zoekbalk van Instellingen.
Je kunt een HelloRoam eSIM op Google Pixel installeren zonder QR-code. Ga naar Instellingen > Netwerk en internet > SIM's > SIM toevoegen en kies handmatige invoer van de activatiecode. Typ het SM-DP+-adres en de activatiecode uit je HelloRoam-mail. De exacte stappen verschillen licht per Android-versie, maar de handmatige optie is beschikbaar op alle ondersteunde Pixel-modellen.
Google Pixel 9, 9 Pro en 9 Pro XL ondersteunen dubbele eSIM, zodat twee eSIM-profielen tegelijk actief zijn zonder fysieke SIM-kaart. Handig voor Nederlandse reizigers naar Parijs of Barcelona die hun thuisnummer actief willen houden en tegelijk een lokale databundel gebruiken. Pixel 8, 7 en 6-serie ondersteunen één eSIM plus één fysieke SIM. Beheer SIM's via Instellingen > Netwerk en internet > SIM's.
Google Pixel-telefoons ondersteunen draadloze eSIM-overdracht bij het instellen van een nieuw apparaat vanaf Pixel 7. Volg de aanwijzing op het scherm tijdens de instelling van je nieuwe Pixel om het profiel van je oude apparaat over te zetten. HelloRoam eSIMs zijn gekoppeld aan het oorspronkelijke apparaat en zijn niet overdraagbaar na installatie. Als de overdracht mislukt, neem dan contact op met HelloRoam-support voor een nieuw QR-code.
Je kunt eSIM-ondersteuning op je Pixel controleren via Instellingen > Netwerk en internet > Mobiel netwerk en zoeken naar een eSIM- of SIM-optie. De Pixel 9 ondersteunt eSIM bij alle Nederlandse providers. Je kunt ook het modelnummer van je Pixel opzoeken op de Google-ondersteuningssite om compatibiliteit te bevestigen voordat je een abonnement koopt.
