Uzbekistan has four main mobile operators: Ucell, Beeline Uzbekistan, UMS (Uzmobile), and Humans (formerly Perfectum). Ucell and Beeline have the widest coverage. HelloRoam eSIMs connect via Ucell or partner networks.
4G LTE is well established in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Namangan, Andijan, and Fergana Valley cities. Tashkent has strong 4G and is expanding toward 5G pilot zones. Samarkand city, including the Registan area, the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and the main tourist district, has solid 4G. Bukhara's old city has 4G coverage throughout the walkable historic core.
Khiva, the most remote of the three main Silk Road cities, has 4G in Ichan Kala (the inner walled city) and the surrounding town. The Kyzylkum Desert between cities is covered on main highways with limited signal in open desert. The Aral Sea area (Moynaq) in the northwest has very limited 3G.
The Fergana Valley in the east, including Fergana, Andijan, and Kokand, has strong 4G throughout. The mountain routes toward Tajikistan via the Kamchik Pass have 4G on the highway but weakening signal on high switchbacks.
Uzbekistan has become much more tourist-friendly since 2017, with easier visas and improved infrastructure. Mobile data is fast and affordable by regional standards.
