Tajikistan has several mobile operators: Tcell (Tele Radio Company), Megafon Tajikistan, Babilon-Mobile, and MLT (MTS Tajikistan). Tcell and Megafon Tajikistan have the widest coverage. HelloRoam eSIMs connect via partner networks where available.
4G LTE is available in Dushanbe and has been expanding to regional cities including Khujand, Bokhtar, and Kulob. Khujand in the Fergana Valley to the north has some 4G. 3G is the main network type along major roads.
The Pamir Highway from Dushanbe south to Qalai Khumb and east toward Murghab has 3G in towns like Qalai Khumb and Khorog. Khorog, the capital of Gorno-Badakhshan (GBAO), has 3G signal. The road east of Khorog toward Murghab becomes very sparse. Murghab, the highest town on the Pamir plateau at 3,618 meters, has minimal 3G. The Chinese border crossing at Kulma Pass has no coverage.
The Wakhan Corridor has occasional 3G near villages. The Afghan side of the Panj River has no connectivity. Download detailed offline maps of the entire Pamir route before leaving Dushanbe. This is essential, not optional.
