Cambodia has several mobile operators but three dominate the market: Smart Axiata, Cellcard (CamGSM), and Metfone (a Vietnam Telecom subsidiary). Smart Axiata runs the strongest 4G network and was among the first to launch 5G trials in Phnom Penh. Cellcard provides solid 4G in major cities. Metfone has wider rural coverage due to its backing from Viettel.
Phnom Penh has strong 4G coverage across the central riverside area, Russian Market, the National Museum, and all main districts. Siem Reap has solid 4G in the town center, Pub Street, and the routes to Angkor Wat. The Angkor Archaeological Park has 4G coverage at the main temples including Angkor Wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, and the outer temples along the Grand Circuit.
The coast has good coverage in Sihanoukville town but weaker signal on outlying beaches and islands. Koh Rong has 4G in the main village and some resort areas, but signal is inconsistent across the island. Koh Rong Sanloem has very limited coverage. Remote provinces in the Cardamom Mountains, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri have patchy 3G or no signal. Download offline maps for any rural or highland travel.
