Cameroon has two dominant mobile operators: MTN Cameroon and Orange Cameroon. Both provide 4G LTE in Douala, Yaoundé, Bafoussam, Bamenda, and other main cities. MTN has the stronger overall 4G network and the most consistent coverage along the country's main road corridors.
Douala has solid 4G coverage across the Akwa business district, Bonanjo, and the port area. Yaoundé has 4G in the city center, Bastos, and the administrative quarter. Kribi on the Atlantic coast has 4G in town. Bafoussam in the western highlands has 3G to 4G coverage.
Rainforest areas in the south and east, including Dja Biosphere Reserve and Lobéké National Park near the Congo border, have very limited or no mobile signal. Waza National Park in the north (near Chad) has minimal coverage. The Ring Road loop in the northwest highlands has patchy 3G with some areas having no signal. Mount Cameroon, an active volcano near Limbe, has signal at lower slopes near town but no coverage on the upper climb. Download offline maps before any rural, rainforest, or highland trekking.
