HelloRoam is a dedicated travel eSIM provider with plans from € 0,89 across 185+ countries. There is no subscription, no monthly bill, and no daily roaming fee. You pay once and travel.
Mint Mobile is a solid budget US carrier. Its $15/month introductory price on T-Mobile's 5G network works well for domestic calls and texts. T-Mobile acquired the brand for $1.35 billion in May 2024. But Mint Mobile is not a travel eSIM provider. International data comes via an add-on pass that costs $5-$20 on top of your existing monthly subscription.

Mint Mobile's 10-Day Minternational Pass covers 180+ countries at $20 for 10GB, 500 minutes, and 500 texts. This pass requires an active Mint Mobile monthly plan ($15–$30/month on 12-month intro pricing). Prices verified June 2026 from mintmobile.com and helloroam.com.

Snelheidstestresultaten Mint Mobile vs HelloRoam
HelloRoam speed data:
Local carrier speeds: HelloRoam connects directly to local carriers on local 4G/LTE and 5G networks.
Plan types: Choose a fixed data plan or a day-based unlimited plan.
Independent benchmarks: Independent speed benchmarks for HelloRoam are pending as the service launched in August 2025. Speed varies by destination and carrier.

Mint Mobile speed data
US domestic (Ookla Speedtest): 411 Mbps in Irvine CA, 58 Mbps in Boise ID. Typical range 79-357 Mbps on T-Mobile's 5G.
International: Mint Mobile throttles to 128 Kbps after your Minternational Pass data cap is reached. At 128 Kbps, video calls and streaming are not usable.
Abroad network: International data routes through T-Mobile partner networks, not direct local carrier agreements. This adds latency compared to a native local eSIM.

Veelgestelde vragen
