1. How We Research Plans
We source pricing and coverage data directly from carrier APIs and partner networks. Every plan you see on HelloRoam reflects live data, not static estimates.
Plan details are verified against live API data at build time. When our data pipeline runs, it pulls current package pricing, data allowances, validity periods, and coverage from our network partners.
Country coverage claims are based on active carrier partnerships, updated monthly. We do not publish coverage for countries where we lack a verified active network agreement.
2. Our Review Process
Comparison pages are written by our editorial team from published sources. We use each provider's own documentation, public pricing pages, and terms of service, plus network data from the mobile operators we connect to.
We do not claim to have personally travelled to or tested every destination we write about. Where a page describes network behaviour or coverage, that comes from operator data, not from a field trip. Where it describes a competitor's plan, that comes from their published terms on the date we checked them.
Every comparison includes publicly verifiable data points. Where we cite a competitor feature or price, we link to the source or note the date the information was last verified.
3. How We Write Help Guides
Each HelloRoam help guide fixes one eSIM problem, with steps for iPhone, Samsung, Pixel and other Android phones. This section explains who writes the guides, what they are built from, and how we fix mistakes.
Who writes the help guides
The HelloRoam Editorial Team writes every help guide, under this policy. The byline on each guide names the team and links here.
What the guides are built from
- The HelloRoam app and our own support procedures, for what to do with a HelloRoam eSIM.
- The phone makers' own help pages from Apple, Samsung and Google, and the Settings app strings published by the Android Open Source Project, for the name of every menu, switch and screen a step names.
Each guide lists those pages in its sources, with the date we read each page. A guide whose steps follow only the HelloRoam app lists none.
Drawn screens and grey bars
The phone screens beside the steps are drawn by HelloRoam. They are not screenshots. Every menu name on a drawn screen comes from one of those pages, except the recorded best guesses below. Where we have no source for a menu name in your language, the screen shows a grey bar instead.
A few drawn screens, on the help hub and in our install guides, use a recorded best guess. That is a menu name no official page prints, inferred from the maker's own wording and recorded in our research with its basis and our confidence. We never call a best guess verified, and no guide lists one as a source.
The clips
The iPhone clips are screen recordings from the HelloRoam app's own tutorials. They were recorded on an iPhone set to UK English, running iOS 26. That is why they say Mobile Service where a US iPhone says Cellular.
The clips for Samsung, Pixel and other Android phones are drawn, not recorded. They follow the same rules as the drawn screens, and the page labels them as drawn.
What "Reviewed by" means
A guide shows a "Reviewed by" line only after a person has read that guide, in that language, on a real phone, and we have recorded the date. Until then the line does not appear.
Dates and corrections
"Last updated" moves when a guide's own text changes. If you spot a mistake in a help guide, email help@helloroam.com with the page and what looks wrong. We check it against the maker's page or the HelloRoam app and fix it. A significant fix moves the guide's "Last updated" date.
AI tools
The help guides follow the same rules on AI tools as the rest of our content. See AI-Assisted Content.
4. AI-Assisted Content
We use AI tools to help with content research, data analysis, and drafting. All AI-generated content is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by our team before publication.
AI tools help us process large amounts of travel and telecommunications data across 185+ countries. Human editors make all final decisions about what we publish.
We clearly distinguish between factual information (pricing, coverage, device compatibility) and editorial opinions. AI assists with factual research; our team provides the editorial perspective.
5. Corrections Policy
If you find an error, contact us at help@helloroam.com. Include the page URL, the claim you believe is incorrect, and any source you can share.
We aim to correct factual errors within 48 hours of notification. For time-sensitive pricing or coverage errors, we prioritize corrections the same business day.
Corrections are noted with an update date on the affected page. Significant corrections are reflected in the page's dateModified structured data so search engines reflect the change.
6. Conflict of Interest Disclosure
HelloRoam is itself an eSIM provider. When we compare our service to competitors, we disclose this relationship. We are not a neutral third party in those comparisons.
We strive to present accurate, verifiable information in all comparisons. Competitor data is sourced from their public pricing pages and official documentation. We do not alter competitor data to make our service look better.
We encourage readers to verify claims directly with each provider before purchasing. Links to competitor sites are included in comparison pages so you can check prices yourself.
Our comparison methodology is based on publicly available pricing, features, and coverage data. We document our methodology on each comparison page so you can assess it independently.
