Singapore has some of the world's best mobile coverage in a dense urban environment. All three main operators, Singtel, StarHub, and M1, have deployed 5G standalone (SA) networks. Singapore's compact geography (about 730 square kilometers) means that full national coverage is achievable and was reached years ago for 4G, with 5G now dominant in populated areas.
The CBD (Marina Bay Financial Centre, Raffles Place), Marina Bay Sands, and the Bayfront area have full 5G. Orchard Road shopping belt has excellent 5G indoors and outdoors. The Gardens by the Bay and the Marina Barrage area are well covered. Sentosa Island, connected by cable car and the Sentosa Express monorail, has 5G at Universal Studios, RWS, and the beach areas.
The MRT and LRT networks have mobile coverage at all stations and for most above-ground and in-tunnel sections. Singapore invested significantly in distributed antenna systems (DAS) in MRT tunnels. Underground stations on the North-South, East-West, and Circle lines all have 4G and in many cases 5G. The Downtown Line deep underground stations (Rochor, Bugis, Marina Bay) have 4G in-tunnel.
Hawker centers, including the famous Newton Food Centre, Lau Pa Sat, and Chinatown Complex Food Centre, all have full 5G and 4G coverage. Singapore's indoor coverage is exceptionally strong due to DAS infrastructure in shopping malls, MRT stations, and commercial buildings. Singapore-based travellers should verify their handset supports the local 4G and 5G bands.
